Helping cinema lovers in finding the right movie with ease and speed
The Monopol Cinema in Munich is one of the smallest cinemas of the city, showing a limited selection of culturally relevant arthouse and blockbuster movies. It was founded nearly 20 years ago and its website still relies on a quite outdated interface.

Problem
The website displays a quite outdated interface that distracts from the main content (the daily program) and shows deficits in the overall site architecture, making it difficult to navigate and explore. Users need longer to discover the cinemas offerings and promotions than necessary.
Task & Goal
The UI will be updated to a more modern look, in order to establish an improved content structure and hierarchy to better guide the user, while scanning the site.
The daily program and special offers will be more easily accessible on the homepage, to minimize the time that users need to get accompanied to the sites structure and content.
The goal is to create a design, which can be applied as a universal solustion for any cinema website. Since cinemas all aim to inform visitors about their movie options and additional offers, the basis focuses on solving these two business needs.
